Local planning
Planning in Boston goes through Boston Borough Council. Replacing an existing frontage in the same style seldom needs permission, whereas a new look, an outside shutter box or a lit fascia generally needs an application. We flag it at survey so it never delays the fit.
How much?
Budget from £1,750 plus VAT as a starting point. The real figure comes from the survey measurements. Once issued, the price is fixed for 90 days unless the specification changes.
Lead times
Manufacture usually takes 2-3 weeks after survey. Fitting a standard Boston unit is normally one to two days on site. If you cannot close, we can work outside trading hours.
Specification notes
Punched laths let passers-by see the window display after closing time while the shutter still secures the opening. Common specifications: punched or micro-perforated laths; window display stays visible when closed.
Coverage
Boston is in Lincolnshire including the PE postcodes, with regular work in neighbouring Grantham, Skegness and Lincoln.
Common questions
What guarantee do I get?
Every installation comes with a written guarantee, and manufacturer warranties on hardware, motors and finishes are passed to you. The terms are set out on your quotation.
Can you match the units either side?
On a parade where the landlord wants a consistent frontage, we work to the same section profile and colour reference so the unit reads as part of the row.
What do you need from me to quote?
The address, roughly what you want, and a photo of the current frontage. Opening sizes help but are not essential, because we measure at survey anyway.
