Permission and Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council
Planning in Halesowen goes through Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council. Swapping like for like is usually fine, whereas a new look, an outside shutter box or a lit fascia generally needs an application. The survey confirms which rules apply.
Costs
The entry price is about £1,850 plus VAT. Size, specification and strip-out decide the exact number. The written quotation is valid for 90 days.
From order to fitted
Manufacture usually takes 2-3 weeks after survey. The install itself rarely takes more than two days for a standard opening. Early starts and closed-day fitting are both possible.
What gets fitted
Twin-wall laths are filled with foam, which reduces heat loss and draughts through the opening and takes the edge off street noise. Common specifications: twin-wall aluminium laths; foam-filled core.

Before you book
Can you match the units either side?
On a parade where the landlord wants a consistent frontage, we work to the same section profile and colour reference so the unit reads as part of the row.
What do you need from me to quote?
The address, roughly what you want, and a photo of the current frontage. Opening sizes help but are not essential, because we measure at survey anyway.
How much does insulated roller shutters cost in Halesowen?
Insulated roller shutters start from around £1,850 plus VAT for a standard opening. The exact figure depends on the width, height, finish and access, and comes from a free site survey as a written, itemised quotation.
Do I need planning permission in Halesowen?
Like-for-like replacements usually do not. Changing the appearance of the frontage, fitting an external roller shutter or adding an illuminated sign usually needs consent from Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council. We tell you which applies at survey.
